I think Ridgy should stay in the team, I feel he brings the defence some stability when we play 4-4-2 as he is not likely to bomb on as much a Vignal, or a Bale or Traore would should we be picking them up in the window.... In Addition having the equivalent of 3 centre backs there when it comes to defending set pieces and corners had made us look a lot less likely to conceded than we did when Vignal was in the team.
In addition by also keeping him in the team and playing means that he is premiership and not reserves match sharp as cover just in case anything was to happen to Dann or Johnson..

The job of a full back is to be a good full back, not a decent ready-made replacement for any injured centre half. Ridgewell is playing like a man out of position, and when he comes up against Premier League "wide" players, his unfamiliarity with the role (I am trying to be kind to him here) is exposed for all the world to see. If we have fit full-backs, even David Murphy, then they simply
have to be selected in favour of Liam Fish-Out-Of-Water Ridgewell.
That's just an opinion from someone who thinks Ridgewell was an overpriced very average Championship quality footballer who isn't anywhere near as good as he thinks he is.
