This has been a quite wonderful series from which England emerged triumphant having played some really good cricket along the way. But was it just a one off or can we expect to see our chaps getting amongst the Aussies and Sri Lankans with some earnest. Certainly we have youth on our side but is there sufficient talent? And didn't our man IRB do well! He not only outscored talented players on both sides but he made his runs stylishly and rapidly. Great stuff Ian!
Bell has finally achieved some recognition, having been named 'Man of the Series' for his outstanding form against India.
Such a pity Pietersen managed to run Bell out in the 'final' yesterday, as it would have been fitting for him to be there at the end to secure the victory!

Yes indeed quite a interesting series that was finally balanced throughout, so bring on the 20/20 then....or is that a little too optimistic

Anything can and will happen in the Twenty20. I fancy Sri Lanka, as long as they can adapt to the Zud Afrikaan conditions quickly..

I can't see the point in 20/20?

20/20 certainly isn't for the purist!
It is intended to bring the game to a completely different audience and as such has to have instant action and non-stop, thrill-a-minute excitement, otherwise the under-21s will be bored rigid within ten minutes!

Well, as one who will happily watch every ball of a Test Match, I like Twenty20 mesen, loike. Tis almost the cricketing version of 5-a-side football.
I wonder if they could ever successfully televise indoor cricket? I used to love playing that on a Sunday morning when in Brum. I had to retire in the first over of a game once - 6, 4, 6, 6, 4 retired on 26. The bowler was shi-ite (well, Asian at any rate, I'm guessing about his Muslim AffiliAsian) He was a cack bowler though.

there's owt wrong with 20/20- it's a good hoot and brings much needed revenue into a game that seemed to be dying on its arse only two or three years back.
