Starts today.
In the womens singles Serena Williams and Jancovic should contest the final in about a fornight's time and in the men's we have Rafa Nadal seeded one and the late entry of BobtheBluenose seeded two. Let's hope Britain's favourite Brummie has put his birthday celebrations on hold until after the tournament, we wouldn't want him smelling of cider while vying to win his first grand slam, loike..
So, let the games begin..
Oh, hold on, they have. Forgot about the time diffrunce..

Murray safely through to the next round then, after his first round opponent lost interest during the second set. Someone apparently told him Mick was back posting in General chat so he feigned injury to catch up on the very smoorgasboord of life..

For those of you that don't know BobtheBluenose is currently playing his 4th round match against un-fancied Spaniard Jose 'I can hear the drums' Fernandez. Live pictures can be accessed via bluenoseserves/backhand.co.au. Be careful not to click on the porn site which sponsors these pictures as you'll end up watching monkey facing instead of the tennis.
The game is currently going with serve at 3-3 in the first set.

Bob wins the first set 7-5 but not without contraversy. Fernandez is complaining to the umpire in between games because Bob apparently keeps asking the Spaniard what's his favourite fruit.
Currently 1-0 to Bluenose in the second..

Bluenose goes 5-2 up in the second and starts to show why he's worthy of his wild card entry by playing some delectable shots from the base line with his man bag. Fernandez looks a beaten man already..

Is out.
Played off the hard court park by No 14 seed Cardio Vascular in a five set sulk. Don't we all know he's not been feeling very well?

well as no-one else has said anything about one of the finest sports;
imo what a brilliant tournament this has been, with rafa and fed giving us a spectacle in the same class as wimbledon '08. some of the shot-making under extreme pressure was breathtaking and the skill and fitness these guys demonstrate on a regular basis is astounding. and in 30+ degree heat......
roll on roland garros, wimbledon and flushing meadows - this is a golden age for mens tennis imo.....
