Full Version: India's approach to one day cricket..
Birmingham City > Brumsnumberone > General Sport
Panja

..now that Twenty20 has arrived, and in particular Verandah Sehwag.

He's a bit of a lad isn't he? He's currently all the way down under in New Zealand playing against the Kiwis in a best of five ODI's. Having watched NZ make 270 off 47 overs, he's decided that as soon as he's had a spot of lunch, he's going to have a bit of a play with the Kiwi bowlers, including one Daniel Vettori. I like him. His approach to the game is as refreshing as one of those towels you get from the hostie on long haul flights; cool to the touch yet invigorating to the skin - that's the towel, not Verandah loike..

I've not been watching it Panj but have just seen the score on the bbc site and will get out of bed right now to watch the end!

At the moment he's on 124 not out off 74 balls, five of which had to be rescued from the crowd..

I like him

I may have said that..

India win it D/L method.

Hence the ridiculously fast run scoring rate - they knew it would be a short innings...

Then again Sehweg always plays like that.

They hit 392 in Christchurch the other day in perfect weather conditions which just goes to show that their attacking approach is a far cry from ours.

Be interesting to see how the One dayers pan out in the Windies. After everyone bemoaned the standard of the pitches there'll be no excuses if the 50 over format is played on the same tracks. Should be high scoring affairs, methunkens..
