A British winner in the Australian GP, the opening race of the new season, with new regs, new teams, new-style cars and no Honda engines.
Twas Jensen Button not Lord Lewis Hamilton who crossed the line first! Hamilton was fourth after starting 18th on the grid.
And Ross Brawn's newly formed team (backed by Branson) had a one-two in their first race!!!
What joy to watch the whole race without missing big chunks of the action for ad-breaks!

Much better coverage by the BBC.Hamilton is now down as finishing third, any idea why?

Hamilton was third when the safety car came out for the final time, and then the commentators couldn't understand how he had lost third place behind the safety car, since overtaking is not permitted!

Don't follow motor racing myself, but talking to a couple people who do and they were impressed by the BBC's coverage, saying it left ITV well behind.

Out of interest Bluerain; do Geordie GP fans go shopping, dancing at the discoteque, job hunting, fishing, dating, dogging, holidaying and art & crafting in a crash helmet and big leather gloves or is it just the city's football fans that live their lives 24/7 in replica gear?

Well...well...well old Lewis (smarmy chops) Hamilton has been branded a liar after he was excluded from the results of the Australian Grand Prix, how can that possibly be...I mean will all recall how he churned out his nauseating puerile rhetoric when he chose to live in Switzerland 'so he could leave a normal life etc. away from all the hustle and bustle of living here'..while remarkably conveniently forgetting to mention it would save him paying several million pounds in income tax..!!,the bloke is so full of his own self importance he thinks everybody holds him in awe and look on in adoring worship and hinge on to his every word and suck to him as though he is some sort of supreme God like figure...Chirst this bloke has a lot to learn about humility..

We love a success story in this country don't we?
He's got every right to be arrogant surely? The same way Schumaker was. The same way Senna was. If being totally focussed in winning is arrogance, then fair play to him.
And as for living in Switzerland - don't a majority of other F1 drivers choose to reside in Monaco for exactly the same reasons? I would if I had the millions and the choice, but to be fair, I wouldn't use a lame excuse for doing it.

It may be a tax haven and the weather may be nicer than the UK but it's no beer-warming Torquay, you know..

Well fair play to old smarmy chops he did at least face the press looking a bit embarrassed and tongue tied at times but lets hope he's learned from his mistakes and cuts the bullshit out from now onwards.!
