Really looking forward to this fight on Saturday night.
Can't be bothered to type it from scratch so this is my post from my racing forum.
I was close to taking 11/5 Valuev outright a while back but am torn.
The only way Haye can beat him in my opinion is by outspeeding him and nicking it on points which will be very difficult in Germany.
To my knowledge, Valuev has never been stopped and I haven't seen anything in Haye so far to suggest he has the power to stop him, but he will probably be a stone or so heavier than we have seen him so far in his career.
Haye has a vulnerable chin and if Valuev catches him it will probably be night over.
That said, I watched Valuev beat a desperately past it Holyfield on points recently and think Holyfield was robbed. On that formline, Haye would win!
I probably won't have a bet for two reasons.
1. Giz fancies Haye so will be cheering him on all night and
2. The heavyweight scene is so desperately poor I'd like to see Haye win to shake it up a bit.
Any opinions folks?

The heavyweight division has been a bit of a circus for a while now, what with old boxers coming out of ritirement at the not so ripe age of 42-48, and now we get another freak show with the little talented Valuev fighting the very little talented Haye.
Valuev could only beat Holyfield on points when the Yank was 15 years past his sell-by-date so haye has a chance, but it'll be a very long evening as he'll be much heavier so slower than previous fights and the Russian will be moving about as fast as James McFadden on valium..

Interestingly Sidders, I train with Ronnie Davies' brother on Wednesdays and he asked me to put him a few quid on Haye "if he is 4/1 or better"
They were all expecting him to be a huge outsider. (not a play on words!)

Haye comes across as an articulate and bright sort of bloke, and he's only one letter away from having a truly marvellous name.
Valuev is a bad extra from a poor Roger Moore James Bond film and has an awful taste in 80's knitwear.
So based on that sound sporting basis, I'm having a couple of quid on Haye to win.

Haye should be the favourite really? Valuev hasn't really fought anyone of note barring a 50 year old Holyfield? But he's big and has sharp looking body hair that could injure knuckles upon contact.

Your right don't apear to be a lot of value in either boxer for a straight win...

slightly favour Valuev but have a closer look Saturday about a bet.

The only value will be picking the right round or how it ends. Valuev to win by bashing his testicles against Haye's forehead in the fifth is currently 11-2..
I'm on it..

I wasn't convinced that Valuev actually won that after watching rerun on t'web. Holyfield was unlucky to say the very least to lose.
Eight dull rounds of Tesco Valuev leaning on little Dave, before Haye uses his speed to knock the big lanky c*nts knees in.
Ninth round Haye for me.

Having watched the build up to the fight on Sky I don't think Haye has got a cat in hells' chance. He's got no chin, no stamina, he hasn't fought more than seven rounds in two years, and he's been knocked down several times, whereas Valuev has never been KO'd..
The Russian guy to win inside three, possibly two..

Enough with the undercard already.
Let's have this freak show on now.
I've had Haye in the 9th in the end...

Tentative start by both boxers, Haye doesn't want to commit too early and Value stands and wait..

Nov 7 2009, 10:10 PM
Round two won by Haye as he was the only one who threw a punch. Valuev just jogs on the spot like a fat bloke on valium..
Panja
Nov 7 2009, 10:14 PM
Round three won by Haye as he's the only one throwing anything apart from thin air parties..

Round four won by Goliath. Haye is moving and jabbing but he's starting to look inaffective..

Nov 7 2009, 10:23 PM
Round five: It's starting to look juicy. Haye is throwing punches but they're ineffective and the painfully slow but unbothered Rushkie is taking it all in.

Nov 7 2009, 10:27 PM
Haye is fighting intellegently but as Round six closes he doesn't seem to be making any inroads. Value has been here before, will davey get tired.....?
