For me, 2009 has been a very good year on the sporting front, a list of these is appendaged:-

Promotion to the prem after a great win at Reading.

Englands cricketers win the ashes and then take a vacation in South Africa and are currently 1-0 in the series.

Another Englishman wins the F1 title.

Englands footballers qualify for the WC with games in hand.

Big Eck signs RJ & SD and they prove to be the nucleus of our amazing, wonderful, fabulous, fantastic and fucking unbelieveable run of 11 games unbeaten and finishing the year in 8th position.

I really do not want this year to come to an end.

What are your highlights of the sporting calendar over the last 12 months?

Well apart from the ones you have mentioned See The Stars proved one of the all time great horses on the flat..and that football managers interview on Sky last night....

The naked Water polo championships for the obese and overweight due to be held in Helsinki in July this year had to be cancelled because the local McDonalds restaurant was closed unexpectedly for Health & safety reasons, so apart from the continuing revelation that is RJ's and SD's partnership at the back I'd have to say the only sporting highlight for me was England regaining the Ashes.

I agree with Jim and Puds, Broad has got the best highlights.

Also rans were...
Tom Watson, oh so nearly providing one of the greatest sporting victories of all time.
Usain Bolt making it look like all the others were running backwards.
Tiger Woods' fantastic drive off his....erm......drive.
I got a great deal of pleasure out of seeing Man U getting put in their place by Barca and not being able to blame it on the ref.

Absolute highlight of the sporting year was Phil Packer and his 2 week long London Marathon.


David, Ralph, David and Karren's 'tara' was the most cringeworthy sporting event of the year.
Good riddance.
