Don't know if any of you watched it, but Pakistan snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at the SCG.
http://www.cricinfo.com/ausvpak09/content/...ory/443747.html Here's hoping for another action packed game.
Ameer in is a no brainer the kid is good (Like real good). Kamreon Akmal has been terrible. I thought Haddin was a bad keeper till I saw this guy. Talk about Loose a match for your side. I cant help but feel for the other two, the knee jerk reactions like this is why their batsmen fail to develop tempremet. Pakistan really outplayed us and gifted us the match.
I havent seem much of Akmal before, have any of you? he came over here with his brother with a fir bit of hype. Is he really any good?
Secondly, what the english take on Shane Watson?
Dont rate the guy. Been dropped in every innings hes got past 50 and a few besides (In the innings i remember don't quote me :) ) I continue to predict his downfall but other teams seem intent on gifting him chances. Don't rate his bowling much either and always looks as if the weight of the world is on his shoulders. I can't help but think a few poor scores and its all over.
Half of my mates here agree with me, Half think hes the next Jaques Kallis.

Watson has got more chance of being the next Jacques Cousteau than Jacques Kallis. His batting has surprised a lot of people as he looked like a temporary measure to replace Phil Hughes in the Ashes when poor Mr Hughes got found out with the short ball, but his bowling won't trouble many batsmen at test level.
I watched the highlights of the last test at Sydney and couldn't believe how badly Pakistan batted in the fourth innings. Chasing a meagre 170-odd to win, they looked like rabbits in the headlights when Hauritz was bowling, and very ordinary bowling I thought it was too, but hey, no one in England would like to see them beat Australia anyway, and not because we like Australia either..

Aus 3-120 just after lunch. Ponting struck trying to pull again, this time on the ear. Looks about as out of form as Ive ever seen him, yet he is still there 45* not out, Clarke in the 20's
Pakistan quicks continue to impress me., especially young Ameer.

3/302. Centuries to Ponting and Clarke.

Unbeaten Record at Hobart looking good.

Hussey out for 6 on a batting strip that makes the flattest track ever look like rocky mountain high - but without John Denver singing in the background.
I see Punter's hit his 39th test century, OZ? Greatest Aussie batsman since the Don?

Dropped on 0. But i concur with your statement.
Hussey should have been dropped in England. The media over here are applauding his cenrty last mach where he was dropped no less tha 3 times by Crapistan fieldsmen.
Having said that I'm a harsh critic, I don't rate Watson Hussey (on current form) Haddin (as a keeper) Hauritz or Siddle but they continue to make me either eat my words or be redonculusly lucky.

Hauritz' nickname should be Rocky for obvious reasons but i quite like the look of Brad Haddin, the boy has potential to hold his head in his big hands when we retain the Ashes later in the year..

More on Punter. He's almost played second fiddle sometimes to the brute force of Hayden and Gilchrist, but from the first time I saw him swing a but you just knew he was good. Scored runs in every country and inherited the best side in the world off Steve Waugh and made it better.
Much better to watch the Waugh and Border, although Border's Record in what was mainly loosing sides should be taken into account.

Clarke belts one to the keeper, but Kurtzen says not out. Appeal inconclusive. Pakistan unhappy.

Clarke belts another one, Pakistan have no appeals left. Hotspot 'inconclusive' anyway. Pakistan not happy. Yousef and Clarke have a chat with Mr Kurtzen. Clarke claims he never hit it. Blames the bat and changes it after hitting a four with it 2 balls before.

Ponting batting a foot outside the crease. Yousef has 2 slips in with movement still from the 2nd new ball. Ameer still troubling both batsmen on a pitch that may as well be concrete. Back your bowlers Yousef!
In before dual double tons. Ponting has that arrogant swagger going........

Aussies 8/519 dec. Ponting with a masterful 206. Clarke 166 and Haddin with a quick fire 41.

Man of the match thus far for Australia must go to Salman Butt (which translated from Hirdu means "Selfish man who refuses to run for others"). He ran out Youssuff when a third run was easier to get than to stand there and watch your Captain with the second longest beard in test cricket run all the way down the pitch only to be sent back and watch his stumps get demolished en-route, then he refuses to budge when Akmal calls for a quickie off Rocky Hauritz's bowling.
Chasing 500 and some change, Pakistanista's response has turned tragicomical, which is nice.
Buffonery I say, Buffoonery of the highest order..

He has certainly taken over from big Inzimam Oh-Fuk-Urunmeout as the chief internal implosion trigger between the wickets. Never good form running the out of form skipper out.

Crapistan survive the first session with out loss. 4 for 158 (Butt 74*, Malik 28*) The have reverted to the tried and true sub continental method of just not running between the wickets at all.
Butt needing to make 300 to make up for the two batsmen he ran out. With a run rate of Boycottian proportions, its gonna take a while.
Edit- Update Pakistan 301 (105.4 ov) all out Butt 102. No follow on enforced.

Bah Pakistan terrible. Another year of Australia beating teams who dont know how to win. Bring on the ashes and opposition who only seem to play good cricket in ashes series!
