Its just one syllable mate, promise ya. If you think of when a word stops flowing, for example, super, the stop would be somewhere around the p, this means its su-per. Think of these as claps, you'd get two claps out of the word super. But only one from the word Screeched as it doesn't have any 'breaks' in its flow.
Used to debate this in English at High School, think by the time I left there was just one person who didn't follow the reasoning of the rest of the class. He failed his English GCSE and now serves burgers in Burger King in the Bullring. Nice work!

I thought the answer was 'smiles'?
It MUST be the longest, because there's a 'mile' between the first and last letters!

This car was travelling a lot faster, in fact I think the driver was involved in a bank job and he was getting away. No, I tell a lie, it was this bloke who'd been to Greggs for a steakbake and he wanted to eat it warm when he got in, knowing that his microwave had blown up the previous Tuesday and he hadn't got a new one yet because it was his birthday the following week and he was hoping for some Argos vouchers.....or was it his wedding anniversary?....anyway....
anyone seen Sham?
